PREM JYOTHIS
DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY
The series of paintings; interconnected through the colour Red, is a far cry, coping mechanism, anger, tears, insomnia, and dreams - against Colonialism, war crimes, Occupation, and imperialism.
Though the series does not follow a linear narrative, it tends to express the world of the oppressed; through dynamic compositions of moments in time, along with radical illustrative works. Inspired by the Afro surrealist movement in films, his paintings boldly challenge the complacency of the privileged by thrusting the inhumane, bloody daily
reality of the oppressed into the spotlight.
